Account Deletion & Data Removal Policy - Murranno Music

Effective Date: April 22, 2026

1. Overview

At Murranno Music, we believe you should have full control over your digital identity and intellectual property. This policy outlines the procedures for requesting the deletion of your account, the scope of data removal, and the technical timelines involved, in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and international privacy standards.

2. How to Request Account Deletion

Option A: In-App (Recommended)

Registered users can initiate a self-service deletion:

  1. Log into your Murranno Music account via our website or mobile application.

  2. Navigate to the “Settings” or “Account Management” dashboard.

  3. Locate the “Danger Zone” section.

  4. Select “Delete Account & Data.”

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your identity via email verification.

  6. Once confirmed, your account will be locked immediately and queued for permanent removal.

Option B: Direct Request (Support)

If you are unable to access your account or prefer assistance:

  • Email: Send a request from your registered email address to hello@murrannomusic.co.

  • Subject Line: Account Deletion Request - [Your Full Name/Artist Name]

  • Verification: To protect your content, we may require additional confirmation to ensure the request is authorized by the account holder.

3. Scope of Deletion & Data Handling

When an account deletion request is processed, Murranno Music executes the following protocols:

  • Identity & Profile: All personally identifiable information (PII)—including your name, email, phone number, address, and profile images—is purged from our active production databases.

  • Content & Intellectual Property: All audio files, lyrics, and high-resolution artwork associated with your account are permanently removed from our internal storage servers.

  • Distribution Takedowns: We immediately issue formal “Takedown” notices to all connected Digital Service Providers (DSPs) such as Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and others, requesting the removal of your catalog from their public streaming libraries.

  • Financial & Tax Records: To remain compliant with Nigerian tax laws and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, we are legally required to archive your financial transaction history, royalty statements, and identity verification logs for a period of 7 years. This data is moved to a secure, restricted-access vault and is not used for any operational purposes. After 7 years, this data is automatically and permanently destroyed.

4. Deletion Timelines & Expectations

While we strive for prompt action, please note the following processing timelines:

  • Account Access: Access is revoked immediately upon confirmation.

  • Internal Server Purge: Primary data is removed from our live databases within 24–48 hours.

  • DSP/Streaming Platforms: While we send takedown notices immediately, third-party DSPs operate on their own processing schedules. It typically takes 2 to 4 weeks for content to be removed from their public search indexes and streaming libraries.

  • Encrypted Backups: Residual data contained in our encrypted security backups will be overwritten during our routine backup rotation cycle within 30 days.

5. Important Considerations

  • Irreversibility: Account deletion is final. Once your data is purged, we cannot recover your streaming history, royalty reports, or account statistics. Please ensure you have downloaded any essential data prior to initiating the deletion.

  • Ongoing Obligations: Deletion does not absolve users of any pending legal or financial obligations incurred prior to the account closure.

  • Copyright Disputes: If there is an active copyright dispute or a pending legal investigation concerning your content, we may be required to pause the deletion process until the matter is resolved to satisfy legal requirements.
